General surgical jobs

General surgery jobs place a particularly strong emphasis on topics within peri-operative medicine such as optimisation of patients pre-operatively, and the provision of adequate fluids and analgesia post-operatively. In addition, trainees are expected to understand important surgical conditions and emergencies (though the content of 'general' surgery varies considerably between hospitals).
